The following is a transcript of the comment form filled out by a patron of the Bio-Medical Library who was not too impressed with my library Circulation Desk skills. Basically he called for directions. I tried to help but he was being such a prick I hung up on him. This is his version of events. I don't even feel the need to defend myself. Needless to say, no one at the library believed his lies.

To whom it may concern, I am a 51 year old business person, member of the community. (not a student). Today (.Saturday, prox 2:30pm), I came to campus to use the Bio-Med library. I needed directions finding the building. I called 626-**** and asked for directions. The individual who answered the phone was identified as "Nick" (.by one of the other library staff... Nick refused to give me his name on the phone. Here is a record of my calls... #1) Q: Can you help me find the library? A: Maybe... Q: (I Told him where I was... next to Moose Hall.. A: I dunno... maybe (more stuttering) Q: OK. Is anybody else There who can help me? A: No. Q: How about a supervisor. (over) --------------------------------------------------------------------------- A). "Ain’t got no supervisor today..." Q: What’s your name? A: I’m not going to tell you my name... Call #2)Q) I’d like someone to help me, please A) I dunno, maybe, .. (more stuttering) Q) Listen, either you help me or I’m going to report the treatment you’re giving me A) Hey, I don’t have to take this kind of treatment from you ... don’t call here again! (voice raising) (end phone calls) My comment: This person was identified by 2 other library staff as "Nick" (I gave them my cellphone and had them call the same # ..pretending to be student _______ in the library.. Both staff said, "Yes, that's definitely Nick... he's kind of slow" Requests: This "Nick" is not adequately representing UM Bio-Med library He is rude, insulting, mentally-slow ... and needs to be replaced before he burns-out further patrons!
