The most important round in any Counter-Strike match is the first round or the pistol round. It is called this because you start with $800 and can only afford to buy a pistol. The team that wins this round is the team that will have enough money for rifles the next round. If you are on the Terrorists side you start with the Glock pistol. This gun is not a powerful as the one the CTs get so you may want to consider upgrading. I like the Desert Eagle but you have to be good at aiming to be effective with it. Most of the other pistols are better than the Glock so just buy what you feel comfortable with. If you are a CT on a bomb defusal map keep your starting pistol and just buy secondary ammo and a defuse kit. It is important that all CTs buy a defuse kit every round. Also, try to buy Kevlar and a helmet most rounds.
If you are several rounds in and find yourself without enough money to buy a rifle you may want to go for an SMG. Some advanced players like to buy the Desert Eagle instead of an SMG. This saves a lot of money and helps when buying the next round. In the hands of a skilled player the Desert Eagle is just as good as an SMG. If you opt for an SMG the mp5 is pretty good and the P90 costs a little more but packs more of a punch. Once you buy you defuse kit, armor and guns you may have some funds left over. Flashbangs, HE Grenades and Smoke are very useful. You should use to learn to use them effectively. At this point you may be saying, "ok, but there are only a few seconds in at the beginning of a round to buy things." If this is the case you may want to read my guide on how to use the in-game bind key option. Just click here. |
