Counter-Strike Source Guides
Movement

In Counter-Strike the way you move is important. It will affect the accuracy of your shot and how well others can shoot you. Your crosshair is the best indication of you shot accuracy. As you move, jump and crouch you will notice the lines on your crosshair will move closer and farther apart. The closer the crosshairs the more accurate the shot. If you are climbing a ladder, jumping or falling your shout will be very inaccurate. This is also true when you are running. With the shotguns this doesn't really matter but it affect all the other guns quite a bit. When you are crouched your shots will be the most accurate. If the weapon is fully automatic only the first 2-4 shots will be accurate. That is why you should fire in bursts of 2-3 shots.

A good way to engage an enemy is to strafe back and forth erratically. As you switch directions pause just long enough to get a burst or two off. Keep moving whenever you are not firing. If the enemy is at medium to long range crouch. This makes you a smaller target and makes your shots more accurate.

Many people think that you can not jump onto a standard size crate in Counter-Strike. To do an extra high crouch jump stand facing a crate while touching it and walk forward. Press and hold the crouch key then before you are full crouched jump. You should jump just high enough. Make sure you hold the crouch key until you are on top the crate.

One last tip about flash bangs, he grenades and smoke. If you are running forward while throwing them they will fly quite a bit further.
